Finito!

After that all I had to do was put it all together, and add the track along with a little credit to myself at the end. Really happy with the outcome.

just incase that doesnt work

Sequence

It took long enough but I finally manged to get together a full sequence, you can see below every image together showing the sequence of events. Now I just have to save every action and movement seperatly and put them together as an animation.

first attempt at walking

so far so good

Collecting images

I started collecting images of a friend to use as my character, I caught her walking, jumping, walking down steps, holding her hands out to act as her buying the baloons and then poses to look like she's floating off with the baloons all to fit in with my story. I started to sort through them to see which fit in best for my animation and the backgrounds I've created.

Book to book

Because my intention was to have the character travel from one sketchbook to another I wanted to add a further element to my finished pages. So quite simply using old sketchbooks from a previous project that were full of texture, I placed my final pages on top and scanned them in using an a3 scanner as if they were pages in each book. Not a great explantion but you can see below how each image ended up looking.

Now all I had to do was edit them so they all had the same backgrounds.

finished backgrounds

These are the final pages, all created using a range of different materials in a collage format. I've also used some pressed leaves/ flowers including the 'tree' on the 5th page which is just a little dried cut off from a plant but turned out pretty effective. The actual images of plants are taken from a book I picked up in a second hand shop called 'Black Medick' by Paul Morrison. I really liked his images and thought they definitely fit in with the vibe of the piece and added beautifully to each page.

Originally on the 5th page I intended to have some sort of swing/ rope for the character to interact with hanging from the tree but because of the 30 second time frame I didnt really have time to fit it in.

Really happy with the layouts!

Developing a landscape

I continued experimenting with collage to establish some kind of backdrop for my animation. Here's a few examples. I really like the effect thats building up so far
